Our Story
Eddie’s Hideaway was established in 1979 by Eddie Hetz, chef and owner.
Eddie was born in 1940 in New York and immigrated to Jerusalem in the early 1970s, where he met Batya. Together, they opened a hamburger restaurant.
The magical sea drew them south to Eilat. They purchased a restaurant with the goal of making people happy through food. They found a small place in a not-so-sympathetic neighborhood, believing that great food would make the place, not the other way around.
At the restaurant, you’ll find classic dishes alongside updates inspired by Eddie.
After 40 years of hard work and a new location, we are proud to say that Eddie succeeded!
